Disaster Recovery Tip #5: Prepare Your Vehicle For Winter Emergencies
Last week’s Severe Weather left many stranded on highways across parts of the south, sending the reminder on the importance of preparing you and your vehicle for winter – no matter where you live.
Here are some tips to help you prepare:
Exercise extreme caution when driving. Take your time and leave plenty of space between you and the car in front of you. As winter progresses, drivers tend to feel over-confident, which can lead to accidents.
Prepare an emergency kit for your vehicle. Gather essentials such as blankets, water, snacks, sand to improve traction and a back-up cellphone battery.
