In this Business Interruption Report, we gathered industry data on what’s been prompting business interruptions (BI) in recent years, highlighting the extent of disruptions and their cost. Having mapped out today’s current landscape of BI, we wanted to once again demonstrate the integral role of a Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plan in a company’s ecosystem.

Today organizations are facing a wider array of threats than ever before. Technological advances gave way to new perils such as sophisticated ransomware attacks and extensive data breaches. The current threat landscape in the U.S. is enhanced by traditional risks such as natural catastrophes that continue to challenge businesses. Cyberattacks, however, are another disruption the majority of companies fear the most, raising awareness of the adequate IT security. It’s imperative that companies understand the risks and potential impacts of business interruptions, regardless of the cause. In this report, we gathered industry data on what’s been prompting business interruptions (BI) in recent years, highlighting the extent of disruptions and their cost. While some companies have adopted work-from-home policies, its adequacy is short-lived. Events  can be longer-term disruptions, in which case  recovery solutions in place can significantly reduce the cost of downtime.
